Ryan Giggs thinks Manchester United can win the title just as they are. I don’t know if it’s true but I completely support him. The fewer players Man Utd sign, the better as far as I’m concerned.
Stoke City beat Burnley 2-1 in Huddersfield despite keeping Danny Collins on the bench. Ryan Shawcross played the full match.
Michael Owen has been keeping the world updated with his future plans. He hopes to stay at Manchester United for the rest of his career – and then become a manager.
Gareth Bale says Tottenham Hotspur will learn from their 4-1 home defeat to Villarreal, a match I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Meanwhile, team-mate Danny Rose has told Gareth to watch out as he’s after Gareth’s place on the left wing.
Boaz Myhill is back in the Premier League. He has signed a three-year deal with promoted club West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £1.5 million. Hull City probably only sold him because they couldn’t afford not to. Bo is sad to leave the club he’s played with in all four divisions but glad he was able to help the club one more time. And if he can become West Brom’s #1 keeper, even better. He has already made his West Brom debut, in the second half of a 1-1 draw with Coventry City. Bo didn’t concede the goal, which was assisted by Coventry striker Freddy Eastwood.
Danny Gabbidon is hoping for an injury-free 2010-11 campaign, ideally in West Ham’s first team. He kept a clean sheet and nearly scored as West Ham beat Ipswich Town 1-0 away.
Wayne Hennessey was back between the sticks for Wolverhampton Wanderers but it wasn’t a great day for his side, who were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United. Wayne and David Jones both played the full game and Dave Edwards was a 61st-minute substitute.
Sam Vokes, who didn’t play in the above friendly, was linked with a loan move to Crystal Palace but Wolves say it’s not true. That doesn’t mean it’s not true though, it’s still football.
