League Two Fixtures 6th March Part 1

Aldershot Town v Burton Albion
The Football League’s two newest clubs (although technically Aldershot have previously played in the League in a different incarnation) face off in this match. Aldershot are just three points behind the play-offs and while Burton are five points behind them, the play-offs aren’t impossible for them either.
Tony James will play in defence to Burton. The experienced defender has been one of Burton’s star players this season. They only have two fit central defenders so they’ll really be hoping nothing happens to him.

Bournemouth v Morecambe
Bournemouth loanee Rhoys Wiggins has another month to help Bournemouth to promotion from League Two – an achievement for a club who are not allowed to sign new players and have often been forced to have just four players on the bench. Unfortunately for Bournemouth, injuries are catching and Rhoys (knee) is one of at least five players who have missed training sessions this week.
Joe Partington is nearing a return but he’s unlikely to be ready for this game.
Darren Moss was promoted from Morecambe’s bench to play against Port Vale. I hope he’ll keep his place.

Bury v Dagenham & Redbridge
Bury aim to stay in the automatic promotion places while Dagenham will be desperately hoping they haven’t thrown away all hope of promotion, after being top of the league earlier this season. Tony Roberts will play in goal for Dagenham.

Cheltenham Town v Chesterfield

Cheltenham are seven points from safety. I’d expect them to survive but three more points wouldn’t go amiss. A win for Chesterfield could put them into the third automatic promotion place if results go their way.
Josh Low could play at full-back for Cheltenham to cover for an injury to David Bird. Josh says if Cheltenham survive, they want to earn it, they don’t want to survive by default.
Robert Page should play for Chesterfield with Mark Crossley on the bench.

Grimsby Town v Shrewsbury Town

Grimsby would have been relegated last season were it not for Luton Town’s impossible points deduction. But they don’t exactly seem to be making the most of their survival. Shrewsbury will remain in the automatic promotion places whatever happens but they have played more games than most of the teams around them.
Will Richards could be on the bench for Shrewsbury.
