Charlton Athletic v Yeovil Town
Not so long ago, Charlton looked like certainties to go up with Leeds United. Now they’re in fourth, two points behind Colchester United. Charlton will be relieved that Grant Basey hasn’t broken his leg but his ankle ligament problems will keep him out probably for 6-8 weeks.
Yeovil’s midfield is set to include Arron Davies, Shaun MacDonald and Owain Tudur Jones. Assistant manager Nathan Jones hasn’t been getting into the team recently, even though Yeovil have only had six substitutes so I don’t know what’s up with him but he is the assistant manager so he's probably quite busy.
Colchester United v Oldham Athletic
If you’d told me these two teams’ league positions at the start of the season, I’d have thought you’d got them confused. But no, Colchester really are in third place, just three points behind Leeds, whilst Oldham are three places and two points outside the relegation zone. Christian Ribeiro (groin) and Lee Beevers (I thought shoulder but BBC Sport says knee) are still not available to play for Colchester.
Christian’s loan expires next weekend but Colchester are hoping to take him on loan again. Christian is hoping to play for Wales against England. It’s always good to hear that from a Wales player and I hope he gets selected.
As far as I know Joe Jacobson and loanee Jason Price from Millwall will be in Oldham’s squad. Joe believes Oldham will escape relegation and climb the table and I’d say he’s probably right, I’m not sure what Oldham are doing down there in the first place.
