Brighton & Hove Albion 0-0 Huddersfield Town
Even a home draw against play-off hopefuls Huddersfield is a pretty good result and it took them out of the relegation places too. Andrew Crofts played the full match for Brighton.
Bristol Rovers 0-1 Walsall
These two sides met for the second time in four days and this time there was a winner. Byron Anthony played in defence for Walsall as expected but Ben Swallow didn’t come on until the 62nd minute. Walsall left Mark Bradley on the bench and were again without the injured Rhys Weston.
Gillingham 0-1 Tranmere Rovers
A great result for Tranmere, who are still in the relegation places but only on goal difference. A win in the next game could theoretically see them rise to 16th. It’s unlikely to happen even if they do win but that shows how well Tranmere have done. Not so long ago, an escape didn’t look that likely. The only bad news is that Ash Taylor was replaced after 24 minutes. He wasn’t needed on this occasion but if he’s out for a while, he will be missed.
Swindon Town 4-2 Oldham Athletic
Jason Price scored his first goal for Oldham in the 93rd minute (after having another goal ruled offside) but that probably won’t be much comfort to Oldham supporters. Swindon scored two in the final minute of the first half, the second a penalty after Oldham’s other Welsh representative, Joe Jacobson, seemed to push Swindon’s Charlie Austin. It is nice to have something interesting to write about Joe but I have to say, conceding a penalty wasn’t quite what I had in mind. (I still love him though.)
