Championship Results 24th March

Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield United
Both sides kept their play-off hopes alive but Cardiff in particular will be disappointed not to win.
Darcy Blake did a great job in central defence for Cardiff. Adam Matthews and Aaron Wildig were both on the bench.

Leicester City 1-2 Reading
Reading continue their play-off push with victory over Leicester – whom they could face again if they manage to get to the play-offs. It doesn’t look that likely but they’ve managed to go from 23rd to 11th in two months – and there are two months more to go before the season ends.
Andy King was very, very unlucky not to score for Reading as their keeper pulled off an impossible save, keeping the score at 1-1. Nicky Adams was on the bench.
Simon Church came off Reading’s bench after 64 minutes and was in the process of making a fine run on goal when he won the penalty that won the match in the 92nd minute.

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Coventry City
The win put West Brom eight points clear of third place. Coventry played well and came close to an equaliser but it didn’t happen.
Freddy Eastwood finally got back into the starting line-up for Coventry – what a shame he was playing against a team who will be in the Premier League next season (and most likely the Championship the season after that). Freddy says he’s been in the manager’s office, asking why he’s not in the team. I think it’s because he got injured and then the team started playing well without him but maybe there’s a conspiracy going on, that would be more interesting.
