Colchester United v Brentford
Colchester have stopped being possible automatic promotion contenders and are now contenders to lose their place in the play-offs. They have played fewer games than the teams around them though and a win against the inconsistent Brentford would help them a lot.
Lee Beevers probably won’t be ready to return from a knee injury to play for Colchester and their hopes of re-signing Christian Ribeiro on loan look to be dashed as Bristol City need him to help with their injury crisis.
Lewis Price will probably be on the bench again for Brentford, even though their other loan goalkeeper has been struggling.
Southampton v Hartlepool United
Southampton probably can’t hope for more than a place in the top half of the table but even that would be great considering their points deduction. Hartlepool are just two points outside the relegation places.
Lloyd James was on the bench last week for Southampton but he continues to struggle with an ankle injury and he will probably need an operation.
Southend United v Walsall
Even a win won’t haul Southend out of the relegation zone so they really need to win this one. Walsall have struggled since their enforced winter break
Rhys Weston was back in training for Walsall yesterday and has a chance of playing. Mark Bradley will probably be on the bench.
