Championship Fixtures 27th March Part 1

Barnsley v Doncaster Rovers
Doncaster still have slight play-off hopes. Barnsley are halfway between the play-offs and the relegation places and are pretty much out of both.
Brian Stock probably won’t be ready to return from a back injury for another two weeks but he thinks Doncaster can still get into the play-offs. Gareth Roberts has had hamstring problems but he might be okay by now. But Barnsley will hope he’s not, acknowledging that he is a very good player. John Oster is fine though as far as I know and he thinks Doncaster can win.

Coventry City v Sheffield Wednesday
Coventry are going for the play-offs. And if Sheffield Wednesday don’t watch out, they could be in the play-offs next season. In League One.
Freddy Eastwood finally got a chance in the starting line-up against West Bromwich Albion. He didn’t score but Coventry were playing West Bromwich Albion.

Crystal Palace v Cardiff City
Crystal Palace were looking okay when they first had the ten-point deduction but it has now understandably affected their form. Cardiff are safely in the play-off zone for now but several teams are in position to take advantage if they keep slipping up.
Darcy Blake has done well in first central midfield, now central defence for Cardiff and deserves to stay in the team. Adam Matthews and Aaron Wildig are likely to be among the substitutes. Aaron Morris has returned from his loan to Newport County and could be an option, having appeared on the bench earlier this season.
Joe Ledley is on the way back following his hip operations.

Derby County v Leicester City
Derby County are now six points above the relegation zone. And what better way to increase that than with a local(ish) derby? Leicester City are safely in the play-offs but seventeen points behind 2nd place.
Resting Robbie Savage didn’t really work for Derby so he’s likely to play no matter how tired he is.
Andy King is likely to stay in midfield after some commanding performances. Nicky Adams will be on the bench as Leyton Orient failed to entice him back.
