Coventry City 1-1 Plymouth Argyle
A point apiece puts Coventry just two points outside the play-offs but it doesn’t do much good for Plymouth. Carl Fletcher came so close to winning it for Plymouth towards the end but it didn’t quite go in.
Coventry left Freddy Eastwood on the bench. He’s so unlucky he got injured when he did. He didn’t deserve to be dropped but neither do any of Coventry’s current strikers. But even in his 89th minute cameo, he showed he was a big threat.
Doncaster 2-1 Derby County
Doncaster’s unbeaten run continues with a win over Derby – and although the winning goal didn’t come from a Welshman, it was the next best thing: an Arsenal loanee – Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
Brian Stock was ruled out with a back injury but Gareth Roberts did his defensive duties well and John Oster again came close to scoring for Doncaster and I’m sure it’ll go in one day. Robbie Savage was back in midfield for Derby after standing in between the posts midweek.
Leicester City 1-0 Cardiff City
Leicester and Cardiff both remain in the play-offs after this win but Leicester are now looking five whole points more secure than Cardiff – who have actually done well considering their injury crisis.
Andy King claimed a headed assist for Leicester’s goal but Nicky Adams was again left on the bench. Nicky’s former loan club Leyton Orient seem to be needing him a lot more than Leicester at the moment.
Darcy Blake and Adam Matthews were both in Cardiff’s starting line-up, the two defenders playing well in midfield, Adam overcoming an ankle injury in order to play. Darcy was unlucky not to get his team an equaliser they arguably deserved. Aaron Wildig was on the bench.
