Premier League Fixtures 13th March Part 1

Bolton Wanderers v Wigan Athletic
Bolton lost to Sunderland last week, something no team has done in the Premier League since, well, Arsenal. And that result was a total fluke. Bolton now take on the team that beat Liverpool in the week. Sam Ricketts won’t play for Bolton after receiving two yellow cards in his last match. I don’t think Jason Koumas will play for Wigan. I wish they’d just loan the poor boy.

Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Both these promoted clubs remain in trouble and Burnley will be hoping to recapture their strong home form from the beginning of the season.
David Edwards is back in full training but not ready to be in Wolves’ squad. Wayne Hennessey doesn’t look very likely to be recalled (I can’t say I’d recall him either but only for the simple reason that I’d never have dropped him).
Sam Vokes got to make a substitute appearance in Wolves’ last game but his much-publicised miss suggests a place in the starting line-up is far from certain – although Sam has promised to score from his next chance and I believe he will. But Wales-eligible David Jones looks likely to play and he thinks Wolves will stay up.

Chelsea v West Ham United

It’s happened. Petr Cech is still out with injury and now Henrique Hilario has gone and injured himself too. Therefore third-choice keeper Ross Turnbull will play and young Welsh keeper Rhys Taylor will be on the bench. Rhys has just kept a clean sheet for Chelsea’s reserves, who beat Stoke City reserves 3-0.
West Ham should welcome back Danny Gabbidon and Jack Collison from hamstring and knee injuries (respectively, that is). Danny at least is expected to go straight into the starting line-up.
