Championship Fixtures 23rd March Part 1

Blackpool v Swansea City
Blackpool’s play-off challenge has fallen away somewhat whilst Swansea have slipped from 4th to 5th, despite looking pretty solid not that long ago.
Neal Eardley (hamstring) and David Vaughan (ankle) both missed Blackpool’s last match and Neal’s hamstring tear could be severe enough to keep him out for the rest of the season. David however will play if he can pass a fitness test.
Rob Edwards was dropped to the bench but as Blackpool didn’t win, maybe he’ll be recalled.
Ashley Williams, David Cotterill and Jazz Richards all have a good chance of starting for Swansea. David Cornell will be on the bench but Joe Allen probably won’t be ready to return from a knee problem, although he is back in training.

Bristol City v Barnsley
Bristol City are looking for just their second win in the last seven games, a run that leaves than just seven points from the relegation zone. Barnsley are only three points ahead of them but clearly there’s some sort of cut-off point between them as Barnsley are outsiders for the play-offs.
Bristol City defender Lewin Nyatanga has got to start really after scoring last week (last week was a draw but it was against Newcastle United so it’s practically a win) while Christian Ribeiro did well on his first league appearance for Bristol City and hopes to keep his place in the side. The 20 year old Welshman is a very exciting young player and who knows what he’d be doing if he hadn’t had all those injuries. James Wilson is back on the treatment table (if he was ever actually off it)
