Doncaster were unlucky not to win when the Preston keeper saved their penalty. Gareth Roberts got the assist with an excellent cross and he could have scored too had Preston’s keeper not made an excellent save. John Oster also had a very good game..

Queen’s Park Rangers 2-0 Plymouth Argyle
QPR got their second successive victory under new boss Neil Warnock. Carl Fletcher was back in midfield as he played the full match for Plymouth.

Watford 0-1 Swansea City
Swansea played well as they got back to winning ways away at Watford. Ashley Williams helped to ensure Swansea didn’t concede an equaliser whilst there was also a start for Jazz Richards. David Cornell was on the bench but David Cotterill was unable to return from injury as hoped, and stayed on the sidelines with Joe Allen.
