Accrington Stanley 1-1 Macclesfield Town
Accrington got their first league draw of the season while Macclesfield extended their unbeaten run since the death of manager Keith Alexander.
Matthew Tipton came off the Macclesfield bench after 70 minutes. 78 minutes later he was scoring a penalty to earn Macclesfield a point.
Notts County 1-0 Chesterfield
A win for Chesterfield would have put them in the automatic promotion places but Notts County look more likely for a top-three spot. They’re now ahead of Chesterfield on goal difference having played three games fewer.
Robert Page featured in this week’s Match of the Day magazine as one of the five League players in their Hotlist. It’s not that common for defenders to be featured. And without his intervention, it could have been at least 2-0. Mark Crossley was on Chesterfield’s bench.
Port Vale 2-1 Bradford City
Two of the less consistent teams met in this match – which at least means it can’t have been easy for those trying to predict the result. The result leaves Port Vale just six points from their desired aim – the play-offs.
Gareth Owen, Craig Davies and Lewis Haldane all started for Port Vale. Craig came the closest to scoring and Lewis won a free kick but these chances came to nothing. Michael Flynn played for Bradford.
