FA Cup Fixtures 19th January

Brentford v Doncaster Rovers (Third Round)
Wojciech Szczesny is ineligible so Lewis Price is likely to play in goal for Brentford – although he probably won’t be able to play against parent club Derby in the next round if Brentford win the match. Brian Stock was substituted after suffering cramp in his first game back from a long injury but he is expected to return to the starting line-up for this match. BBC Sport reports that Doncaster boss Simon O’Driscoll has denied rumours that Southampton are after Brian but Sportinglife say they’ve turned down a bid. Either way, it looks like Brian isn’t going to Southampton.
Gareth Roberts is worried that a Premier League club will come and steal Doncaster’s manager but health-wise he seems to be fine. John Oster should also play.
Brentford and Doncaster had better hope they don’t need a replay as they’re scheduled to play Derby in the fourth round on Saturday.

Cardiff City v Bristol City (Third Round Replay)

All three of Cardiff’s Welsh first-teamers are carrying injuries but Joe Ledley, Adam Matthews and Aaron Wildig could end up playing anyway as Cardiff’s team continue to suffer from illness.
Joe of course is struggling with his ongoing hip problem and this FA Cup replay could be his last appearance of the season for Cardiff – if not his last match for them altogether if he doesn’t sign a new contract. Celtic are interested in buying Joe but Stoke have had a bid rejected. Worryingly, Joe is Cardiff’s fittest central midfielder. Adam and Aaron have knocks but I’m not sure where.
Gavin Williams will hope to start for Bristol City after his brilliant goal won them a replay in the final minute of their first match. Lewin Nyatanga could play at left back again with Christian Ribeiro on the bench but I’m pretty sure James Wilson is ineligible.

Notts County v Forest Green (Third Round)

Two of the lowest-ranked teams will hope the match will actually go ahead this time and most likely with Curtis McDonald, who has recovered from a hip injury. Mike Fowler broke an ankle in pre-season so he won’t play but he’s back in training now.
