League Two Fixtures 22nd January Part 1

Aldershot Town v Bournemouth
Joe Partington was on the losing side when he played for Bournemouth’s reserves against Exeter City’s reserves. He is now an injury doubt for this match – as he was for the match last week. Bournemouth have a very small squad though, they can’t usually fill their substitutes’ bench so they probably don’t have much choice but to play him in reserve matches and at least put him on the bench for the game against Aldershot.

Bury v Hereford United

Ryan Green is out after having a hernia operation but Hereford still have Ryan Valentine and Darren Jones, a centre back who came close to scoring in his last match.

Cheltenham Town v Rochdale
Rochdale are top of the league. Cheltenham kind of aren’t. So this probably won’t be an easy game for Josh Low and David Pipe. David is on loan from Bristol Rovers but Cheltenham boss Mark Yates wants to keep him until the end of the season.

Lincoln City v Bradford City

Michael Flynn should be in Bradford’s squad but only if the game actually goes ahead this time.

Morecambe v Barnet
Darren Moss is fit to play for the home side as far as I know.

Northampton Town v Chesterfield
It’s all very confusing but Northanpton and Chesterfield actually have two matches scheduled for today. Northampton was going to play Accrington Stanley and Chesterfield were going to play Notts County but as Accrington and Notts County are both playing FA Cup Fourth Round ties this weekend, Northampton and Chesterfield must have decided to play each other instead – the original fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
But anyway Peter Gilbert will probably play in defence for Northampton and Robert Page definitely won’t play in defence for Northampton for the simple reason that he is a Chesterfield player. But he should overcome a slight injury problem to play for Chesterfield, unlike Mark Crossley who is probably more likely to be on the bench. Confused? That’s how I felt when I saw the ficture list.

Northampton Town OFF Accrington Stanley

As Accrington are plaiying Fulham in the FA Cup, this match had to be postponed.
Northampton will be playing Chesterfield at home instead.

Notts County OFF Chesterfield

As Notts County are playing Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, this match had to be postponed.
Chesterfield will be playing away at Northampton instead.
