League Two Results 26th January

Chesterfield 0-1 Rotherham United
Rotherham have had a number of matches called off recently but it doesn’t seem to have affected their form at all. Chesterfield probably thought they’d nabbed a point but then Rotherham went and scored in the last minute. Robert Page played the full match for Chesterfield with Mark Crossley on the bench.

Dagenham & Redbridge 0-3 Notts County

There was no Cup hangover for Notts County as a strong away win put them ahead of Dag & Red on goal difference. Tony Roberts was the Daggers’ goalkeeper but he did make some good saves at least the first goal sounds like it was pretty much unstoppable.

Darlington 1-2 Northampton Town
Northampton came back from 1-0 down to beat bottom club Darlington. Peter Gilbert played the first 75 minutes and I just hope he wasn’t substituted due to injury.

Macclesfield Town 2-2 Morecambe
Macclesfield are ten points ahead of the relegation places and probably safe but all the same, the point was probably very welcome. Darren Moss was again on the bench for Morecambe.

Rochdale 0-0 Port Vale
Port Vale did well to hold league leaders Rochdale to a draw which meant a clean sheet for Gareth Owen but loan strikers Lewis Haldane and Craig Davies were probably more interested in scoresheets than clean sheets and unfortunately neither of them got on it. Lewis probably should have won his team a penalty but the referee must have been looking the other way.
