League One Results 23rd January Part 2

Norwich City 1-0 Brentford
Not too long ago, Leeds United looked uncatchable. Now, Norwich have overtaken them. Despite having ten men for most of the match. They’re only on goal difference and Leeds do have two games in hand but it shows how far Norwich have come since being beaten 7-1 by Colchester (stealing Colchester’s manager helped). There was no place in Norwich’s side for Owain Tudur Jones though and Lewis Price had to make do with a place on Brentford’s bench.

Oldham Athletic 0-1 Millwall
Millwall’s goal was a penalty scored in controversial circumstances but it still counted. But you can’t blame Oldham defender Joe Jacobson who could almost be said to have kept a clean sheet. Millwall’s Jason Price came on in the 83rd minute to replace substitute Lewis Grabban, who himself replaced Neil Harris two minutes after the goal. Did he injure himself celebrating? The last thing Millwall need is another striker crisis although it would give Kenny Jackett a good excuse to add to his growing collection.

Yeovil Town 2-1 Exeter City
Yeovil defender Nathan Jones and on-loan midfielder Shaun MacDonald played the full game as Yeovil beat struggling Exeter. Exeter played Richard Duffy in defence but Rob Edwards was still absent after losing his teeth and Stuart Fleetwood didn’t come on until the 81st minute. Goalkeeper Andy Marriott was also on the bench.
