Premier League Results 20th January

Arsenal 4-2 Bolton Wanderers
Arsenal came from 2-0 down to beat Bolton Wanderers. Aaron Ramsey was just one of the players on their injury list but that didn’t stop them from claiming all three points. Sam Ricketts made his first appearance for Bolton for quite some time – he came off the bench after 94 minutes. Which isn’t all that much better than not coming on at all.

Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Gareth Bale was the best player in a mostly lacklustre Tottenham side but if Tottenham were victims of a jinx, it was probably not Gareth’s. He got a booking after clashing heads whilst jumping for a ball but I agree with those who said it was a bit harsh. It wasn’t a malicious challenge and won’t the bump on his head be punishment enough? (The football coach part of me says it was a foul and the yellow card was the correct response and the Arsenal fan side of me is completely happy with how this match went but as this is a Wales blog my Wales fan side gets star billing.)
